Gunnislake, once a mining town, is situated in the picturesque Tamar Valley, an area of outstanding Natural Beauty, offering riverside, woodland and moorland walking, cycle tracks and horse riding centres. There are many places of interest such as Cotehele House, Buckland Abbey (N.T), Morwellham Quay, Eden Project, Plymouth Barbican and Aquarium (via river or railway), Coastal resorts e.g. Padstow, Port Isaac to the North or Looe, Polperro to the South. Originally, two miners cottages, Hillsweek has been extended to provide a kitchen and separate dining room. Now a cosy Cornish cottage it is convenient to local village shops and pubs, only 4 miles from the award winning historic Stannary town of Tavistock.
