Description
The cottage, built and inhabited by the owner’s family for three generations, was a small Dartmoor farmhouse. It nestles in the valley between the granite crowned Belstone Tor and Cawsand Beacon. The River Taw borders the cottage’s ten acres of grounds which are available for holiday makers to explore and enjoy. The cottage was carefully renovated in the early 1990’s with double glazed windows, enlarged tiled bathroom and oak kitchen. To compliment the open fireplace in the Living Room, electric night storage heaters have been installed to keep it warm during the colder months. There is a small cobbled forecourt, ample parking and a garden overlooking the paddock that leads down to the river. Many places of great interest and beauty in the Dartmoor National Park are only a short drive away. Lydford Gorge (National Trust), Fingle Bridge, Meldon Reservoir, Castle Drogo and Haytor Rocks to name but a few. Additionally there are many prehistoric remains on the moor - stone circles, cairns and standing stones. Okehampton, the central country town of Devon is just 4 miles away with Norman Castle, swimming pool, tennis courts, museum. Tourist Information Office etc.
