The Stables at Priddbwll Bach is situated on the Shropshire/Wales border, 7 miles from Oswestry, close to the Tanat Valley in an area of outstanding natural beauty. Its quiet, hideaway location, makes it an ideal choice for getting away from it all and relaxing.The detached cottage is a stylish conversion of a former stables in traditional stone and slate with original feature oak beams. Upstairs: 1 double bedroom with king size bed and 1 twin bedroom. Travel cot on request. Downstairs: bathroom with shower over bath, washing machine and tumble dryer. Lounge/diner with wood burning stove and seperate kitchen. Outside: large enclosed garden, overlooking outstanding views of the Welsh hills, a secluded patio and furniture with parasol. There are walks from the door in beautiful countryside. Lake Vyrnwy with its impressive dam and visitor centre and the spectacular waterfall of Llanrhaedr are are within easy reach. There is easy access to the mountains and beaches of North Wales and other major tourist attractions such as the world heritage site of Ironbridge Gorge in Shropshire. Welshpool and area has endless things to do and places to see. Walking trails, wildlife, fishing and golf. The town of Llanfyllin is nearby with its market on Thursdays. In Oswestry you will find a Sainsburys, a M&S Simply Food and a Morrisons.The town of Oswestry is named after King Oswald of Northumbria, who died in AD641. He was nailed to a tree - hence the name 'Oswald's Tree'. The town has many places to visit including the Heritage and Exhibition Centre, the Bailey and the Hill Fort, plus restaurants, pubs and cafes and a lovely park with childrens' playground and mini golf. On Wednesdays and Saturdays there is a street market and the Market Hall is well worth a visit. The Mere at Ellesmere is the largest and most spectacular of the nine glacial meres. A beautiful lake with formal Victorian gardens and historic parkland on the edge of the medieval market town. Other meres close by are Colemere, Blakemere and Whitemere. Course fishing is avaiable on some of these meres. Five Golf clubs are within easy reach.Explore the canals by visiting the marina and wharf, walk along the tow paths or take a trip on a narrowboat. Visit the old Norman castle at Whittington which has a tea room and park. The medieval town of Shrewsbury and the ancient city of Chester are only 40 minutes away. In Shrewsbury, visit the famous Quarry gardens and the river Severn also, Shrewsbury Museum & Art Gallery at Rowley's House which is a timber-framed building built as a merchant's warehouse in the 16th or early 17th Century. In Chester, visit the roman ruins, the magnificent cathedral, the famous shopping 'Rows' and take a walk around the City walls. Chester Zoo with its beautiful gardens and overhead railway is a popular day out. Weekly bookings only over Christmas and New Year.
