Hutton Roof, close to the market to town of Kirkby Lonsdale nestling in the Lune Valley, itself in good walking country and near to the RSPB sanctuary at Leighton Moss, offers a superb base for exploring the Lakes, Windermere is approximately 30 minutes drive away. Yorkshire Dales and the unspoilt Forest of Bowland are within a short driving distance.
