Description

The Red House dating back to 1830 was the family home of the Blacksmith. Sympathetically extended and refurbished, the cottage now provides very comfortable self-catering accommodation in a quiet rural setting. Wonderful mountain views and wildlife can be enjoyed from the cottage and the covered veranda is the perfect place to watch the evening sunset or the Northern Lights. Nearby forests offer way marked trails for cycling, walking and orienteering. Situated at the foothills of the Eastern Cairngorms between Royal Deeside and Speyside in the Cairngorm National Park area of Upper Donside, Strathdon is well placed for sight seeing. Visitors can enjoy Castle, Whisky, Coastal and Distillery trails. Gardens, fishing and children's attractions are all within a day visit.
