Traditional fisherman's cottage rebuilt to face the sea and Rabbit Island about 1890 by Donald Gow (namesake of infamous C18th north coast pirate). PO/shop 150 yards. Superb exhilarating coastal scenery. Orkney visible on a clear day. Mountains, beaches, forest walks, rivers and lochans. Climb to the cairn behind the cottage and see the spectacular silhouettes of Ben Hope and Ben Loyal. Rich in prehistoric remains, local and natural history. Not suitable for very young children.
