The village, little changed by 21st Century life, lies in unspoilt rural Somerset, with a pub, a 14th Century church and three working farms. Pheasant's Roost is a just completed, very high quality, sympathetic conversion of a former local stone low barn with massive oak beams and fronting a quiet country lane. The cottage offers an extremely comfortable base from which to visit the Somerset Levels, rich in social history and wildlife, the wonderful scenic Dorset countryside of Thomas Hardy or the many close-by National Trust properties and classic gardens. The cottage is approached through a fully fenced, flag-stoned private courtyard with garden furniture for sunny meals in quiet seclusion. Parking for two cars: garaged and allocated space. The village pub serves good beer and food. Please note, New Year bookings can be a Friday start, short breaks accepted
