Description
Baxby Manor is a historic, picturesque retreat. Built in 1308 and mentioned in the Doomsday Book, the house is full of character with many original features, including inglenook fireplaces, oak beams and an authentic 16th century bread oven! Baxby is set in unspoilt countryside on the edge of the North York Moors National Park and just a short walk from the village with its shop, pub and 12th century church. The farm's 110 acres of fields, hedgerows, lanes, woods, ponds and stream provide opportunities for wildlife watching, coarse fishing, walking or simply enjoying wonderful views. An ideal base for walking, cycling and touring Yorkshires' countless attractions; within half an hour's drive of York, Harrogate, world of James Herriot at Thirsk, Castle Howard, Beningbourgh Hall, Byland and Rievaulx Abbey's and many other National Trust sites.
